Verstappen Beats Perez and Ferraris for First Pole of F1 2023

Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing secured the first pole position of the 2023 Formula 1 season, beating his teammate Sergio Perez and the Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Verstappen set a blistering lap time of 1:31.499, just 0.069 seconds ahead of Perez. Sainz and Leclerc qualified third and fourth, respectively, with only minimal time separating the top four.
The qualifying session was closely fought throughout all three segments, with the top teams trading places with each successive lap. Verstappen ultimately emerged triumphant, claiming his first pole position since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November 2022.
The Bahrain Grand Prix, the opening round of the 2023 Formula 1 season, will take place on March 5, 2023. Verstappen will start the race from pole position, with Perez, Sainz, and Leclerc lined up behind him.
