What is UEFA EURO 2024?
The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2024, is the 17th UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe.
The tournament is scheduled to be hosted by Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024. It will be the second time that Germany has hosted the tournament, after previously hosting the 1988 edition.
Tournament Format
The tournament will feature 24 teams, which will be divided into six groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, which will consist of a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final.
The matches will be played at ten stadiums across Germany, including the Allianz Arena in Munich, the Olympiastadion Berlin, and the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.
Qualification
The qualifying draw for UEFA Euro 2024 will take place on October 9, 2022. The 53 UEFA member associations will be drawn into ten groups of five or six teams. The top two teams from each group will qualify automatically for the tournament.
The remaining four places will be decided through a play-off tournament, which will be played in March 2024. The teams that finish third in their qualifying groups will be drawn into four semi-finals, with the winners of each semi-final advancing to the final. The two winners of the final will qualify for UEFA Euro 2024.
